Waiting to Install Windows Vista Service Packs
Do you need to install Windows Vista Service Pack 1 right away? We have all been waiting for its release and now that its available should we install the pack immediately? Honestly, I haven’t done it myself yet because I don’t have immediate concerns that needs to be solved.
My only Vista pains are the bluetooth and hibernation problems which I can bear at the moment. Security patches are delivered automatically via Windows Update and as such, Vista Service Pack 1 is not on top of my list until everyone agrees there are no longer problems after its installation.
Some of the Vista Service Pack one fixes are as follows:
1. FIX: Internet Explorer may stop responding when you set the “display” style for the DIV HTML element to “none
2. A Toshiba Tablet PC that is running Windows XP with Service Pack 2 stops responding when you try to run a command
3. Stop errors occur on a Windows-based computer that has 2GB or more of RAM and is using an NVIDIA nForce USB controller
4. InfoPath 2003 crashes when you click inside the Date Picker control on a form and then press the LEFT ARROW key
As I have went through the list of updates found here, none compels me to install the pack this time around.
