Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008
Windows Server 2008 is enjoying great reviews with its performance, stability and spot-on features while Windows Vista is getting the opposite despite having the same codebase as that of Windows Server 2008.
TheRegister has an article hoping to see Microsoft platform and services division Mark Russinovich get his teeth into this. The article is saying that Vista should have the same codebase of Windows Server 2008 but is underperforming.
The codebase may be the same but I am pretty sure there are hundreds of thousands or even millions of lines of codes which separate the two operating systems. A single line of code changed in a running stable application can create enormous problems, let alone the amount of code done in Vista.
Microsoft should look deeper into Windows Vista and try to find out the problem.
