Vista is a Work in Progress

by Milo on April 20th, 2008

SeattlePI has an excerpt of the speech of Steve Ballmer at the MVP conference in Seattle. I agree with Steve that Vista is a work in progress; but when you are the paying customer who paid in full, it is another story.

In an excerpt of the speech:

Windows Vista: A work in progress. [Laughter, applause.] A very important piece of work, and I think we did a lot of things right, and I think we have a lot of things we need to learn from. Certainly, you never want to let five years go between releases.

We had some things that we can’t just set the dial back, but I think people wish we could. Vista is bigger than XP. It’s going to stay bigger than XP. We have to make sure it doesn’t get bigger still, and that the performance and that the battery life and that the compatibility, we’re driving on the things that we need to drive hard to improve.

I hate vista…it has caused nothing but problems, and not one genius at microsoft can figure it out, 2 disc drives not working since last year, always unsupported opperations, the people have no idea what your talking about. They varely speak english. Vista is an embarrasment to microsoft, so are all the customer service associates they employe in other countries.
