Drop the Thought of Skipping Vista

by Milo on April 20th, 2008

There was big coverage about Windows 7 being released in 2008 which probably has increased the number of people who wanted to skip Vista.

Benjamin Gray, analyst at Forrester, is against this thought and says: Although we applaud companies for thinking ahead, there are some harsh realities for those considering skipping Windows Vista. Ironically, one of Microsoft’s biggest weaknesses - the unpredictable release schedule of its desktop operating systems - will likely spur adoption of Vista as a result of this lack of faith in Microsoft delivering Windows 7 on time. Because adoption has been cautious, it has been a challenge for companies to learn from early adopters

I certainly had no plans of waiting for Windows 7 before upgrading to Windows Vista and I sure am satisfied with it.
