NVidia Causes Early Vista Crashes

by Milo on March 29th, 2008

The Windows Vista Capable lawsuit reveals that early crashes of Windows Vista were attributed to Nvidia during the early release in 2007. It said that Nvidia caused 30 percent of the Vista crashes while Microsoft is only at fault for 18 percent of the total crashes.

According to the PR director of NVidia: “These issues are a year and a half old. We continue to improve drivers.

This doesn’t matter Microsoft took all the heat and blame for their software and hadn’t it been because of the lawsuit they would have not pinpointed the problem to Nvidia. Nvidia didn’t deny their product cause the problem but only confirmed they continually improve their products.

You should be fine with that card as long as you are set up for vista 32bit.It’s not a high end card.I have Quad core,Vista 32bit, gig ram, and the card I use is N’vidia 8800 gts.
N’vidia series 8 and 9 are the best. Ati makes a couple of very nice cards as well.

As an update to my previous comment, the early crashes seem to have been taken care of by SP1. to ensure stability you should update all drivers re: graphics card, motherboard, operating system etc.. The sevice pack for Vista addresses several issues,it might be your answer….
