Windows 7 is Kept Close by Antitrust Regulators

by Milo on March 15th, 2008

US antritrust officials are acting early by keeping Windows 7, successor of Windows Vista, close to their hearts. The technical team of the regulators have already taken responsibility of a Windows 7 copy to ensure it abides antitrust rulings set in 2002.

According to the report of US District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly at the end of February:

“The technical committee has begun to review Windows 7. Microsoft recently supplied the committee with a build of Windows 7, and is discussing testing going forward,” said the report.

“The technical committee will conduct middleware-related tests on future builds of Windows 7.”

The guys may be a little too nozy for Microsoft comfort but the results in the long-term should be good for Microsoft. They shouldn’t be having any major problems by the time Windows 7 is released.
