Easily Disable Screensavers in Windows Vista

by Milo on February 16th, 2008

Flipss is a utility that quickly enables or disables you Screensaver. This is best used when viewing a video or doing a presentation. Instead of going through the motion of opening Control Panel and enabling/disabling your screensaver, flippss could just be a click away when placed in a shortcut menu.

These are the steps:

1. Download Flipss here.
2. Copy Flipss in C:\
3. Right click on your desktop
4. Click on New\Shortcut
5. Type the following C:\MyFiles\flipss.exe /off
6. Rename your shortcut to “Turn Screen Saver Off”
7. Right click on your desktop
8. Click on New\Shortcut
9. Type the following C:\MyFiles\flipss.exe /on
10. Rename your shortcut to “Turn Screen Saver On”

* Note: You can change the path of Flipss, just make sure your shortcut path follows through.

Open the vedio player and ….the path may differ from player to player
    for media player.
Click Tools> Options> under player tab you will get the option for: Allow screen saver during playback
Uncheck this option and click Ok.
    or something like that,
In VLC player the path is different.
Click settings, then Preferences, then General Preferences, then Video. Then choose Disable Windows screensaver when playing video under Video Playback.
