Allowing Programs Through Windows FireWall

by Milo on January 15th, 2008

Some of the network games I tried to play cannot see other computers and as such I figured it wasn’t allowed through Windows Vista Firewall. I simply allowed them thru the firewall and things went well.

To be able to allow programs through Windows Firewall, do the following:

1. Click the Orb Start of Windows Vista
2. Click Control Panel
3. From the Control Panel, click Windows Firewall. The screen below should appear

Windows Firewall

4. Click on “Allow a program through the Firewall”. The screen below should appear:

Windows Firewall

5. From the screen you can readily check or uncheck the desired program that you would allow through the firewall. Likewise you can also check the option whether you want to be notified when a new program is blocked by the Firewall.
