How to Increase Performance of SATA Drive

by Milo on January 9th, 2008

Write caching should be able to increase performance of SATA disks and enabling it is recommended in laptops and computers connected to power supply regulators as the risk of losing data is nil when power suddenly shuts out.

To enable your write caching simply:

1. Type “Device Manager” in the start button and run it.
2. In the “Disk Drives” section, right click on the disk you wish to enable write caching and click on “Properties”.
3. Go to the “Policies” tab and check “Enable Advanced Performance”.
4. Click Ok until all window closes.
