The Future of Speech Recognition
Microsoft Windows Vista comes with a more powerful speech recognition technology accessible from here — “Control Panel\Speech Recognition Options”.
The speech recognition helps users issue commands or keys in documents using speech. Even though Microsoft speech recognition isn’t as smooth as any given user would want, it is still useful for a lot of people and its future is as bright as anyone could imagine.
Microsoft is extending the usefulness of the speech recognition far beyond the desktop Windows Vista powered PC. Ford for instance has already worked with Microsoft that developed a new Sync system that helps drivers control their electronics and dictate text messages from the driver’s seat. As Ford pilots this effort, it would be interesting to see whether there would be a mass production of cars bearing Microsoft’s speech recognition.
With the development of Ultra Mobile PC loaded with Windows Vista, it would not be far from reality that we begin to buy vehicles equipped with Windows Vista UMPC customized for speech recognition usage.
