BeyondTrust Controls UAC Pop-ups

BeyondTrust recently unveiled their software named Privilege Manager 3.5 which helps control the annoying pop-ups appearing while having User Access Control Activated.

Privilege Manager policies would fire up before a User Access Control dialogue box appears whenever UAC is enabled. If UAC is disabled, Privilege Manager would act upon on the policies set by the administrator.

BeyondTrust describes it’s software as follows:

BeyondTrust™ Privilege Manager gives organizations the ability to implement the fundamental security principle of least privilege using native Windows security constructs. This principle is essential not only as a security best-practice, but also to satisfy most security-focused regulatory compliance directives. The principle is defined in the famed “Orange Book” as follows:

Privilege Manager is implemented as a true Group Policy extension and utilizes patent-pending technology that allows administrators to attach permission levels to applications. Applications, users and computers are targeted using standard Group Policy conventions and Privilege Manager’s unique per-setting filters. Simply specify the application and which security groups should be added to and/or removed from the process token when the application is launched.

At $30 dollars a seat, this should be a good product to implement as I would prefer to have the UAC enabled but without the non-stop pop-ups appearing every now and then.
