Is Your Newly Purchased Computer a Drag?
I have been hearing about newly bought computers with Windows Vista installed performing so slow.
I remember when I was testing out the laptop which I eventually bought, it was also so slow. I could not understand how a Dual Core and 2GB of memory took forever to open explorer. As I navigated around the different screens, I had to wait for an average of 15 seconds for the screen to show up.
As I bought the laptop, the manager of the store told me they can boost the performance of the laptop by as much as 60 percent which would only cost me around 30 USD. What the…!
I did not accept their offer and when I arrived home I quickly looked at all the installed programs and there were so many garbage trial applications installed and running in the background. I quickly un-installed all of them. After that I looked at the Windows Vista performance configuration which to my surprise was set to function the slowest. I set the configuration to optimum performance and my laptop began to fly.
When purchasing a new computer, you don’t need to pay the vendor additional 30USD to make your computer fast. You can do it yourself as what I did above.

Gentlemen & Ladies: I’m a old DOS person who has no idea how to reprogram a Windows Program let alone this pesty Vista Home Premium I am now stuck with. My old Windows ME outperforms both the XP sp2 on my laptop (1.8 Gig) and my new HP desktop (2.0 Gig) with VISTA. Can someone inform me on HOW TO get rid of the crap mentioned in this artcle and where is the speed selector to increase performance?
