Windows Vista Enterprise Virtual Hard Disk

by Milo on June 8th, 2007

Microsoft made available a virtualized disk containing Windows Vista Enterprise Edition. The VHD files is only good for 30-days and meant for evaluation purposes.

This is definitely aimed towards enteprise (aside from it’s name) users because this particular version of Windows Vista can only be acquired through volume licenses. If this is meant for the enterprise, the 30-day trial vesion should be extended to at least 90 days which is the amount it usually take enterprises to evaluate a software. The workaround of having a number of people downloading the image whenever the evaluation expires is cumbersome.

The product details of the VHD is found below (taken from Microsoft):

Version: 1.0
Date Published: 6/4/2007
Language: English
Download Size: 158.8 MB - 1558.8 MB*

For organizations with complex desktop infrastructures, whether large or small, Windows Vista Enterprise is the operating system designed specifically to help realize a better return on IT investments. In this VHD, you’ll have the opportunity to road-test new and improved features including management (e.g. MUI, BDD, etc…) usability (e.g. Search, Navigation, etc…) and security (UAC, Windows Defender, etc…), enhancements to the Windows Vista platform.

Download the VHD here.
