Quick Solution for DLL Errors in Applications

by Milo on May 16th, 2007

Have you experienced DLL errors when running applications in Windows Vista even if Vista has not notified you of compatibility issues?

The problem may be caused by Windows Vista Security settings and the application needs to run on elevated privileges. To run applications in elevated privileges, right click on the shortcut and click on Run as Administrator. Oftentimes, DLL problems can be solved once apps are running in administrative mode.

Running applications in administrative mode is not the best solution but given that a lot of applications coming from Windows XP has not yet been migrated to the new Windows Vista, running in admin rights is your best quick solution.
