Is Windows Vista Battery Efficient?
HP has been vocal on the complexity of Windows Vista specifically the Aero Glass 3D as it makes for a disappointing battery life. Microsoft earlier announced that Windows Vista has superior power management capabilities and with concers voiced out by HP, they said users should customize their power profiles to get the most out of their box.
Testings indicate that Windows Vista is power efficient when Aero Glass 3D is disabled; this means that Windows Vista has superior power management relative to the software or feature being run. Aero Glass 3D may eat up a lot of power but given the kind of graphics it runs, it’s consumption can still be considered superior.
Overall, manufacturers like HP are concerned that consumers would like to have the same or better level of power consumption as they did with Windows XP even when Windows Vista Aero Glass 3D is installed.
