Security firm Authentium claimed they have cracked PatchGuard which is included in the 64-bit version of Windows Vista. According to reports, they found a way to disable the protection so that they could install their kernel patches and enable the technology once again.

As one of our commenters already wrote, RC2 is offline! Going to Microsoft’s website it appears as if RC2 didn’t even exist. All the download-links are gone and the page just redirects to the Vista default…
But, like we have seen before, Bittorrent to the rescue! So go here for the Vista RC2 torrent (via digg.com).

Microsoft isn’t a company known to release stable builds, and bugs in Windows Vista RC1 build number 5728 were cut from 2,479 to 1450 in RC2; meaning the number of bugs would go down below 500 within the month where the manufacturing RTM version is rumored to be out.
