New desktop games from Vista
The collection of games in the Windows Start menu will finally be updated. Gamespot writes about the new DirectX 10 API that promises to give us better-looking and better-playing games. Microsoft will update the traditional collection of casual games (Minesweeper, FreeCell, Solitaire) and will also introduce completely new games for Vista. These games are Chess Titans, Mahjong Titans, and Purble Place, which are obviously designed to appeal to a large, global audience.
