Publishers like ourselves are trying to publish Vista Gadgets (we have a side bar gadget for our phpChess servers). However the publishing process can take a while.
You are likely to be able to download the gadgets directly from the companies that make them.
Where else can we submit out products?

the microsoft page has some good gadgets but they are really slowing my pc down - and its not exactly slow (AMD opteron quad core!) 2 many gadgets = SLOW!!!

ok. how do u instal these. when i pres install it asks me to save or to find a program on the internet. wat do i do to install these??

Yea, I’m having the same problem as Rosty. When i click the download button, and then install, and open, it comes up with a window asking me to choose a program to run the .gadget file in. I try sidebar, but it doesn’t work! And all that is downloaded is the .gadget file, no folder. If i click it, it does the same thing. Please help me, i can’t get any of them to install!!!!

Even I found that using sidebar gadgets slow down my pc, I’m going to scrap all the gadgets, useless.

hello - I have seen a few here are looking for a site to upload your gadgets, well I can say I will launch a site hopefully on Monday 10.15.2007 and you are welcome to be the first to upload your gadgets, maybe there is still a few bugs, but lets see.

Rosty & Andrew - The gadget file you download is a zip file.
You need to decompress it to a directory named {gadgetname}.gadget in “c:/program files/windows sidebar/gadgets/”
It will then appear in the list of available gadgets to add.

Viju - yes you can download a windows sidebar for XP which will allow you to use all the gadgets, just google it.
