Critical review of Vista
Paul Thurrott from winsupersite.com has a very good (and critical) article on Vista. In his fifth CTP review he mainly writes about how disappointed he is in the upcoming Windows Vista release. He rambles about everything that is wrong with Vista and the company that’s releasing it. Vista seems to be just an upgraded version of XP and is released way too late. This sort of columns give Vista a really bad name but I do agree on the things Paul writes. MS should step up and add new and exciting features to the OS just like Apple, not just copy the Tiger OS.
Tags: apple, ctp, mac, review, Vista, xpShame on you, Microsoft. Shame on you, but not just for not doing better. We expect you to copy Apple, just as Apple (and Linux) in its turn copies you. But we do not and should not expect to be promised the world, only to be given a warmed over copy of Mac OS X Tiger in return. Windows Vista is a disappointment. There is no way to sugarcoat that very real truth.

[…] MS reacts on Vista review By Vincent | Related entries in Windows Vista It looks like Microsoft could have found a way to react on the critical review that Paul Thurrott wrote a few days ago. The company is promoting the new OS at the National Association of Broadcasters convention being held this week in Las Vegas. MS needs to keep customers wanting Vista for at least ten months from now, so we need to believe that Vista makes the operating system superior in the delivery of multimedia. This would include several enhancements to Windows Media itself as well as expanded functionality within Windows Media Center. I don’t think they’re doing a real good job convincing the public, Bubba Murarka does it better;) […]

[…] Apple is claiming that Vista copies a lot from Apple’s OS X, we all know that. Last week both Lifehacker and Paul Thurrott wrote a piece about this and explore if Apple isn’t copying too. I’m not in the position to be 100% objective about Vista, but I think both companies have ’stolen’ ideas from one another now and then. But it’s a good read, so check it out! […]
