Second Gartner note on Windows Vista

by John on November 22nd, 2005

Analysts Gartner have issued a second research note on Windows Vista superseding last week’s version. The firm claims that the first was misinterpreted by the media.

Instead of advising businesses to wait until 2008, Gartner recommends that preparations should be made sooner rather than later, particularly for Windows 2000 users.

The analysts recommend companies contact their software suppliers as soon as possible to determine their timeline for Windows Vista support, which is expected to ship by the end of next year. For some specialty business applications, vendors can take as long as three years to support a new operating system.
