RSS in Vista IE7: Scoble Clarifies His position
So Robert Scoble is an RSSer after all. He’s clarified his position on the topic, and it seems, like many of us, he’s sitting on a big comfortable fence. Yes, he prefers RSS, but if it does get called “web feeds”, I get the impression he won’t lose any sleep about it.
But his explanation is worth hearing : “I’m an RSS evangelist. Will I be a Web Feed evangelist? Far less likely. RSS is a brand. Web Feed is something you do … So, call them Web Feeds, but I’ll call it RSS when I’m evangelizing it. I sure do wish this industry would be consistent, though, but it’s not. That genie is already out of the bottle. I’m off to Dave Winer’s OPML dinner, by the way. See ya there.”
Now, he could hardly go to Winer’s dinner without saying something nice about RSS, could he? I get the impression that if Bill goes for web feeds, or Pullits [cough], Scoble will reposition the fastest blog in the West. Ever thought of standing for President, Scoble?
